The List Goes On and On

I have so enjoyed watching my Facebook feed each day for updates from my friends who are sharing one thing each day for which they are thankful. Although I am rather inconsistent with Facebook postings and haven’t really participated in the thankfulness postings, I wanted to take today and share on my blog some of the things that I’m thankful for this year.

First of all, my patient husband John who has stuck with me through thick and thin.

This may be our Christmas card picture this year. This was round two of trying to get a good shot of all seven of them. That’s a challenge as you can imagine.

I’m thankful that we live in a free country where soldiers sacrifice for our freedoms and for freedom for those unable to fight for themselves, that I have friends and family who care about me and my family, and thankful that my kids are able to grow up with opportunities that were not possible in the past.

I’m also thankful for the little things like a new puppy who joined our family after we lost our 8-year old Sheltie to cancer earlier this year.

Like all of you, I could go on and on about things and people I am thankful for.  I just wanted to use this day to also say thank you to each and every one of you who reads my blog, who encourages me with your emails, and who shares in the fight to make this world a healthier place.

Blessings to each and every one of you.  Diane

  1. AMEN.
    Happy Thanksgiving.

  2. I love that photo of your kids and think it would make such a lovely Christmas card. Stunning.
I love your list as well of everything you are thankful for. I too am thankful for my hubby.

  3. Great post, Diane! I’m trying to work on a similar one right now for tomorrow. That’s a great photo of the kids! I love Shelties…I always thought I would like one. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

  4. Very nice. Hoping you have a blessed and peaceful Thanksgiving with your beautiful familly. The puppy looks like a sweetheart. The oonly truth I’ve ever known has come from the eyes of my dogs…

  5. LOVED the pic, very good Christmas card. We have several graduation group shots that I am using (I even thought ahead and had the prints made at the time). I don’t do the same pic for every card. I mix them up. So the four households in the same town in Iowa, all get a different picture. I guess I like the surprise element of that. So, if you have a lot of great shots, that is an option.

    Love your thankfulness post.

To be very honest, it is only the last couple years, I guess since I really found my boundaries, that I feel thankful. And now I feel very thankful. This past year, as my kids have hit major milestones I have felt overwhelming thankful that everything has worked out well for them. I guess on some level I am thinking – I caught myself early enough that I didn’t screw everyone else up. Because honestly, that is where I (and therefore we) was headed.

  6. LOVE Diane!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful things to be thankful for!!

  12. What a beautiful picture of your children, Diane. (And I SO understand the difficulty of getting a good picture of everybody.) Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  13. Julie from SD says:

    We love you! Happy Thanksgiving

  14. Diane, I am thankful for your blog – a place where I know I can always get an honest, well written and thoughtful post.

  15. That will be a great Christmas card picture. It is SO hard to get kids all posed and smiling at the SAME TIME. Drives me nuts to even try.

  16. I know I missed posting this before the Thanksgiving Holiday, but I hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday together. The picture of the kids is gorgeous. Thanks so much for all that you’ve given to me concerning healthy eating and fitness this year through your blog, Diane. I am truly grateful for you!
